DETEKSI KEBERADAAN BAKTERI Escherichia coli O157:H7 PADA AIR GALON PENDERITA DIARE DENGAN METODE POLYMERASE CHAIN REACTION (PCR)

Abstract


Water with poor microbiological quality could transmit or spread disease such as diarrhea which is caused by pathogenic bacteria Escherichia coli O157: H7. The research aimed to detect the presence of the bacterium Echerichia coli O157:H7 in gallon water of the diarrhea patients by the polymerase chain reaction (PCR) method. This was a cross sectional research. Samples of the research 18 samples of gallon water which were found in homes of the diarrhea patients.  The research result indicates that the testing by polymerase chain reaction (PCR) method using the primary Escherichia coli O157:H7 gene rfbe (AE00549) with the length of 239 bp is obtained 4 (22.22% )gallon water samples contaminated by the pathogen bacterium of Escherichia coli O157:H7
